The Lovely Rules
(THE RULES)
You know you love them! Just read these rules to have the best experience here at Anubis Scripts!
(THE GOLDEN RULE)
RESPECT. This one word is the easiest thing to understand, but sadly sometimes the first one broken. It applies to all members and staff of Anubis Scripts.
(ROLEPLAYING)
First things first, we are a PG-13 to a Mature community, so sex, epic violence, & drugs WILL happen. But, I do not want to see sex for the sake of sex. No Plot? What Plot? here. Substance, my loves! Substance and quality!
Make sure to put [M] in the title if you are going to make it Mature. Failure to do this can scar an unsuspecting minor or prude forever and may result in a Notice of Action.
No chat speak in roleplays, loves.
We at Anubis Scripts understand completely that some people are just starting out, and we find it wonderful that people are trying something new. That being said, we would *like* at least one paragraph, but don't go around threatening our members with wooden spoons demanding it.
As general activity has been touchy in the past, all new members of our community are asked to roleplay at least one page in the general genre areas before submitting character applications to the Original Worlds.
Please don't double post unless a topic has been dead for 7 days and you're trying to keep it going.
Spell check is your best friend, and can do a lot to catch typos. Programs like Microsoft Word also have built-in lovelies that help with proper grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure in posts, so take advantage of it. Just because one may be new to writing, doesn't mean one's posts must look like it.
Anubis Scripts, overall, is multigenre! Because of our small yet intimate member base, we don't have a large selection of general genre boards. But don't fret! If you don't see a genre you want to play, just let me know, and I'll whip up a board just for you, quick smart! After all, my wonderful friend, you are the one who makes this community what it is, and you are the one who helps it grow
(CHARACTERS)
There is no limit on how many characters you can have, and no character apps are needed, UNLESS you're planning on joining one of the Original Worlds. The Original Worlds have their own character app sheets, which you will be required to fill out and await approval on before you can start RPing them. Character app approval usually takes no more than 24 hours, but please remember that world moderators have lives outside of Anubis Scripts, and this time limit is flexible.
No Mary-Sue's or Gary-Stu's allowed. Every person in history aside from Jesus Christ has had flaws, and so your characters must have flaws, too! No one is perfect, so don't make your characters perfect. Be realistic: a fourteen year old can NOT be the world's greatest fighter. Granted she can be good, but not invincible. Every awesome power should have an awesome weakness to go along with it.
Once your character is dead in an original world, it's dead. This isn't Attack of the Zombies. It's Anubis Scripts.
DO NOT god-mod/powerplay other people's characters. It's not fair to them, and you WILL receive a Notice of Action for doing so. If you're unsure what godmodding or powerplaying is, head on over to the FAQ for a quick rundown, or ask a staff member on the chat. We would much rather have questions than be forced to hand out a notice of action.
Pretty much all types of characters are welcome on Anubis Scripts! This means LGBT characters, murders, psychos, phobics, etc, etc. However, child molesters and sexual predators are not allowed under any circumstance. The standard age of consent for real life people to have sex in many countries is 18, and so it is on Anubis Scripts, ladies and gents. Any blatantly sexual activities written about any character beneath the age of 18 is a huge, BIG no-no, and will merit immediate notice of action. If you have any questions on what is considered blatant, please feel free and comfortable with PMing a staff member; we would be more than happy to answer them.
(ORIGINAL WORLDS)
You have the ability to craft your very own original world! However, there are only allowed four original worlds on Anubis Scripts at any one time to prevent a site full of wonderful, yet empty worlds.
Original Worlds that show no strong interest for one month will be retired, after which applications for a new, innovative world will be opened. The choice of which world will take over board space will be up to members to decided through a poll format; if there's a tie, staff will make the final decision. Interested members must submit a complete idea of that world to the site founder (that's me!) for review in personal message format first. When a good selection of ideas are submitted, I will make a poll with all ideas included, and voting will begin!
You're also in charge of advertising for that world. That doesn't mean that staff won't help get the word out there, too, but if you want your world to survive, don't you think you should be the first one administering CPR? This includes either creating your own mini-banner or submitting a pic you'd like to use to me in PM format so I can make one for you, writing up an advertisement, and being the first to get the word out there.
The owner of Anubis Scripts has complete autonomy when it comes to these boards, and has both the ability and the right to both deny the creation of a world on Anubis Scripts, and delete a world if a lawful situation arises. If the member who created the Original World is banned or leaves the site for other reasons, the Original World has the possibility to remain on Anubis Scripts for the further enjoyment of its members, though we will still give the creator the due recognition they deserve.
(ACTIVITY)
It is perfectly okay if you go on vacation or the like, but please don't just disappear; post on the Absences forum.
We will have activity checks every couple of months, meaning that if you've not posted an absence, your account will be marked inactive, so again, please don't just disappear.
(PICTURES AND VIDEOS)
Even though this site does carry a possible Mature rating, pictures and videos that are posted must have a PG-13 and below rating. Smut is only allowed in roleplays
(CHAT BOX)
The rules of the chat box are very simple: Don't advertise, and Guests welcome! Personally, I don't care if you cuss up a storm in chat, as I have been known to do so myself, but I do not want to see chat-sex. The chat is viewable to everyone, and that includes 13 year-olds and prudes, darlin, and quite frankly, I don't want to have to listen to complaints.
Guests, remember: Don't be shy! We LOVE to chat with you!
(THE WARNING SYSTEM)
Notices of Action can and may be given for any infractions to the rules on this list and any other problematic behavior that may arise. They are not on a three-strike basis and vary in length and magnitude depending on the situation. All notices of action require the receiver to send an acknowledgement of reception to the staff member who issued it.
--> A level one action entails a written warning sent to the offending person's inbox and may require the offending person to issue a personal message of apology to the one offended and a CC to the site owner.
--> A level two action involves a suspension of membership, the length of which to be determined by the Administrators. Upon membership reinstatement, a letter of apology will be submitted by personal message to the one offended and CC'd to the site owner.
--> A level three action includes permanent banishment from Anubis Scripts, no ifs, ands, or buts about it.
